books are sexy...
as much as i love to read... i have to say that there is a certain level of stress that comes along with picking up a book. it probably has a lot to do with the fact that i can still act like a 4 year old on a whim, but here is my argument. books unlike they're entertaining contradiction "movies" suck you in and leave a lot more to your own interpretation. movies are pretty cut and dry, or course there is always the typical cliff hanger scene or possibly the shady ending, but books possess these qualities and so many more. most of the time you're free to imagine what each character looks like, what they may be wearing, their facial expressions, etc... now, you are wondering what claim to a stressful environment i am laying before you, well... think about the last really good book you got into, a book that was just long enough to not be able to finish in a day (because really, who has that kind of time) and remember how frustrating it was to have to put it down to go to work, or to bed because you had to work early the next day, or for the myriad of other possible reasons. alas, i am still a strong advocate for a good book, especially with the pending warm summer sun just around the corner to welcome me to sit and peruse a captivating story. so as i am finishing up my current literature, and although i do have a list of options to last a lifetime i ask you to make your recommendation, tell me, what should i read next?

looooong weekend...
and i don't mean long as in i have that favored 4 day off thing. in fact just the opposite, i worked all weekend. but it was long in that had so much to do sense! and of course wreaked havoc on my liver and increased anheuser busch's stocks. friday night the strength of a friendship was challenged (never again shall we play monopoly), saturday i had to say goodbye to one of my closest friends and one of my favorite new friends (stay tuned for future road trips to dc), and this morning i had to be up way to early for a work meeting. but then enjoyed the rest of the morning at the zoo with some more of my favorite people. then of course lost much of the rest of the day to some much needed sleep. which means i'll probably be up half the night watching my fan spin again. all in all it was a pretty emotional weekend but also big reminders of the incredible group of people that surround my life.

karma.....
just the other day i was having a good laugh with my girlfriend because the redsox had started their season at 0-5... because what die hard yankee fan wouldn't LOVE that? well at that expense the redsox earned their first win tonight..... against non other than my yankees! i suppose thats the baseball gods telling me not to be so cocky. either way i'm feeling like 2011 is our year... well... is another of our years. because if the mayans were right and next year is it for us it really is only fitting that the best baseball team in the mlb go out the champs. and really i don't care if you agree or not... because you can't deny yankee history!

NO SLEEP FOR YOU!!
the sleep nazi is apparently camping out in my room this evening. yes i know 0015 isn't really that late but what you don't know is that i have to be up for work in 4 and a half hours. you're jealous.... i know! less than a perfect day, work was tiring as always, but not tiring in the sense that i come home and able to just pass out, obviously! i dont even have a specific train of thought i can lay here and get lost in. which contributes perfectly to the less than perfect day. funny thing is, i have at least 3 art projects i could be working on, i have music i want to download, i have unfinished facebook games i could be playing, and i have 4 books i have started to finish but none of them are calling my name loud enough to force me out of bed to do something constructive with my eyes open. so i'll just lay here and watch the ceiling fan go round. hopefully it hypnotizes me to sleep some time before i vomit!

why not... right?
its amazing how many times i will start something along these lines and then let it fall away... so why not continue that chosen(misguided) path and start a(nother) new blog. i suppose just turning the page to a new chapter in my life may be somewhat responsible. although certain measurements such as age, milestones, hardships, etc... are the easily recognizable things that distinguish 'new chapters' but doesn't every day present the chance to write a new chapter? i guess we'll see.
